GEAR

All of the gear below was borrowed from the photography department. As we were new to using the GH4 our photography teacher gave us a one hour crash course on how to use it. The camera is very simple and easy to use and this made getting to grips with it's functions very straightforward.

Ikan DS1 3-Axis Gimbal
Manfrotto Quick Release Plate
Panasonic GH4
Sigma 45mm 1.4 ART
Panasonic 20mm f2
Takumar f2
Olympus 45mm f1.8

We shot the entire film in 4K, this allowed us to crop and re frame where needed selectively allowing for far more flexibility in editing. Settings: UHD 4K 3846 x 2160 / 24fps

DAY 1

The first day of shooting was primarily focused around working with the new gear and getting used to shooting using the gimbal. Setting up the gimbal can taker around 10 mins for a first time user ensuring to have it fully balanced before switching it on.

Once the gimbal was properly balanced we started to shoot the walking scene of the main actress May moving from inside the house to the outside.
